Arnesen Family Lip Sync Night!

So this may have been one of the highlights of the wedding...aside from actually, you know, getting married. Of course, there were so many highlights, but, this, I was super impressed.
Some background-growing up, we would have lip sync nights occasionally just for fun and something we could all do to just laugh at (with) each other and have an all around good time. As we got older, it became tradition that anyone who got married would have a lip sync night dedicated to that person. They would sing songs that reminded us of that person. It's a super fun tradition and one I hope I can continue with both the Arnesens and my future Baker family. Well, we did my lip sync night after my bridal picture session. Let me tell you...I was so. so. SO impressed with all the numbers!! My family seriously went above and beyond and pulled out all the stops. Photo creds go to Liz and RaeAnn, because I didn't take any pictures. I was too busy laughing.
Many of the grandkids, waiting for the show.

I wish my makeup looked this good every day. Like I said, this was right after my bridal pictures, so I had my makeup done for the day at a MAC counter. But RaeAnn, my SIL, did the touch ups, and did a pretty darn good job replicating the makeup for my wedding day. Perhaps I should just have her always do my makeup...

So, Spence and Kathie were the ones who "introduced" Devan and I. They did a Disney medley of what would happen *if* they introduced us. It was super funny-all the kids were involved. Luke was a good sport, being the only boy kid in the family, he did all the boy parts with all the costume changes-including the Beast from Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Prince Charming.

So, as my fellow single sibling, Brad and I would always be paired together for occasions such as this. I kind of wanted to be up there with him, but he did an AMAZING job with his lip sync! He chose a perfect song, "Lovers of Loving Love". A little background there, we would always listen to silly punk and "ska" music for fun when I was a teenager/adult together, in fact, we went to a couple of concerts for fun. So the song he picked fit the bill perfectly. I am seriously so grateful for all my siblings, but also that Brad and I were able to grow so close together after our siblings got married-I'm glad that we were able to be best friends as well as family. He's so great.

Next, was the Thompson family. They did a great puppet lip sync to the Animaniacs song "Hello, Nurse!". Which is perfect for two reasons-the obvious is the fact that I'm a nurse, but I also LOVED Animaniacs growing up. Charlotte and Liam did a great dancing job, and Liz, Zaron and Corban did some great puppetry work. It was so funny!

So, Mike and Victoria did a great medley of some of my favorites both past and current. They included Land Before Time, "Keep Christmas With You"-a Sesame Street record I would sing all. the. time., Gilmore Girls, 98 degrees (my favorite boy band as a teenager), and some Michael Buble. Oh my gosh, it was so much fun!

Next up was Paul and RaeAnn. Another one of my favorite movies growing up was On Our Own. They did an awesome medley of the songs from the movie, and it was hilarious!! Their props were great, and man, their acting was impeccable!! :)

Mom and Dad did a light show for their lip sync to "You are the Sunshine of My Life". They always pull out all the stops for their lip syncs. It was so great! Leave it to Mom to incorporate flashlights into her song! She always uses great props in whatever she does, and the kids loved it. I think it's the teacher in her.

Amy and Howard did a rousing rendition of "Fools Rush In", Highlander style, complete with tambourine, recorder, guitar and bagpipe. It was excellent, and the McOmber family always know how to coordinate outfits!

And, as a bonus encore, Amy and Spencer as Donny and Marie. I think? Great costumes, though, don't you agree?!

It was such a fun and memorable night. My siblings really pulled out all the stops on this night, and I'm so grateful to my whole family. They are my best friends, and I'm so thankful that I have eternity to spend with them-many more laughs and good times will be had!
