Pre-wedding stuff

So, we had a fun summer together planning the wedding but also enjoying some down time. We took Memorial Day weekend to head up to Port Angeles and do some hiking around Olympic National Park. It was so much fun-super rainy, but great fun!
We took a pit stop after doing some snow hiking up Mission Ridge-it's beautiful there!

Yeah, there's the rain.

...and the snow! I was actually envisioning a warmer trip, haha.

We also took a day and headed to the beach and did some exploring-these weren't exactly nice and warm Hawaiian beaches...we had to wait a few months on that for our Honeymoon. But he still looks dang good on the beach in his sunglasses!

OK, maybe not the most flattering picture of us, but the beach is pretty!

Yeah, we're cute.

We also had a long weekend that we spent with Devan's parents because Steve and Stella had come up for a week after Steve got home from Afghanistan. It was so much fun hanging out with them for the weekend. It was definitely one of my favorite memories with my new family. I loved getting to know Steve and Stella, who are super awesome. We took a trip up to Orcas Island to go on a whale watching tour. (Not Lopez Island, like the picture suggests...just a pit stop on the ferry ride over).

See the whale? Haha, pretty tough to spot, but our tour guides were sure excited-I'm not sure if they were more happy about the fact that we actually saw whales on the "whale watching tour" or if they're just marine biologist nerds. Either way, it was entertaining!
This is Devan and his brother Steve. And Steve's second love of his life, Rocky. It was this trip that I learned that Steve really loves this dog. Rocky is displayed proudly and well on the walls in their home in Orem. I think it's great. I enjoyed the small town life of Roy for a weekend. Oh, and I also have a sister in law who's a nurse, too. It's pretty awesome.

We made sure to take some time to adventure-we had a good time kayaking in Lake Union...

...and relaxing at home.

We took a walk along Alki Beach. I hadn't been there since I was a kid. I need to go there more often!

We hiked up Rattlesnake Ridge. Luckily, we didn't come across any serial killers.

We (he) also started building us a dresser. We actually ended up repurposing it to be an extra kitchen counter in our small tiny kitchen.

We went wakeboarding with Devan's aunt and uncle, and Devan got up on the wakeboard!! Which means this summer, he'll be doing flips just like Paul!

We went down to Tacoma for Devan's Mom's birthday-we had a picnic and walked along the waterfront and went to the botanical gardens.

We also went to Devan's friends wedding.

And a few weeks before we got married, we went to Salt Lake to visit family, and we went through the Salt Lake Temple. This is one of my favorite pictures of us. I'm so grateful to be married to such an awesome guy.
