The end of June, we had the most AWESOME opportunity to go to Sequoia National Park and Yosemite National Park with the Arnesen side of the family for a Reunion. We all caravanned around the parks in RVs that we rented. It was a pretty fun and memorable ride! And since we were in CA already, Devan and I decided to take a short detour home at the end of the trip to San Diego for a couple of days of relaxation.
We first flew down to Fresno, where we met with the rest of my family. This was Nicole's first plane ride, and she did really well on it! She had a great time waiting in the airport with Dad and crawling around on the dirty airport floor :)
When we got to Fresno, it was about 113 degrees. It. Was. So. Hot. We had the great idea to spend the day at the zoo with Nicole, but that lasted about 20 minutes before we realized that Nicole was basically melting. So we decided to head inside and get some AC.
We stopped to get some provisions for the trip at Target, where we got Nicole some stellar shades!
When the day was *starting* to cool off, we got Nicole in the pool with her floaty, and she really enjoyed it!
The next day, we hit the road, RV style! Not gonna lie, it was a little bumpy in the back, and the windy roads were...awesome...haha. After a bit of a late start, we made it to Sequoia National Park and saw some majorly big trees! Pretty amazing!
Love me some Ergo back carries!
Devan and Paul having a moment.
Some of my most awesome nieces and nephews, just chilling in a tree trunk.
After a nice, cool night camping, we hit it to Yosemite! I've been super stoked about going to Yosemite, and it did not disappoint! It is *such* a beautiful park...waterfalls, trees, mountain peaks. I loved being there among some of God's most beautiful creations!
We hiked up to some waterfalls. Nicole still does really well in the carrier when we hike.
View in Yosemite canyon.
Can't go on vacation without a decent jumping picture!
Love my little family!
Panorama doesn't even do it justice.
Love these two!
My Dad and I.
Nicole just hanging out on a rock!
After Yosemite, we hit the road to San Diego. We had a great time visiting beaches, saw the Mormon Batallion museum, which has been totally redone since I went when I was a kid. We also got to do a session in the San Diego Temple, which is so beautiful. We hiked along the beach coastline at Torrey Pines. The weather was perfect the whole time we were there, we ate delicious food, and I didn't want to leave! I'm sure we'll make our way back there sometime soon. It was a really fun trip!
Nicole's first time in the Pacific Ocean!
So grateful that families are forever!
